  • 3rd oldest USGA Championship (over half a century older than U.S. Women’s Open which was started in 1946)
  • Players must have an index of 5.4 or less
  • No age restrictions: A 14 year old won the tournament in 2006. In 2001 Morgan Pressel qualified as a 13 year old, and she won in 2007 at age 17. Lucy Li set the record as the youngest competitor at 10 years, 10 months and four days old in 2013. Lucy is expected to play again in 2018.
  • The 2017 U.S. Women’s Amateur champion is Tennessee’s Sophia Schubert! Sophia is from Oak Ridge and is a Senior at the University of Texas.
  • Nashville Sports Council’s role: help with legal transactions, establishing 501c3 status, fundraising, board meetings, volunteers and key operational aspects of the event (Past event roster includes 2014 Women’s Final Four & 2016 NHL All Star Game)

  • Saturday, August 4th - registration and practice round
  • Sunday, August 5th – official practice round
  • Monday, August 6th – First round of stroke play (156 players)
  • Tuesday, August 7th – Second round of stroke play (and play-off if needed)
  • Wednesday, August 8th – First round of Match Play (64 players)
  • Thursday, August 9th – Second round of Match Play and third round of Match Play (32 players/16 players)
  • Friday, August 10th – Quarterfinal Round of Match Play (8 players)
  • Saturday, August 11th – Semifinal Round of Match Play (4 players)
  • Sunday, August 12th – Final Round of Match Play and Prize Ceremony (2 players)
